On February 26, 2024, the first panel discussion on the topic “The Future of Clinical Trials in Croatia” took place. It was attended by Prof. Dr. Iveta Merćep, Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at KBC Zagreb and President of the Croatian Society for Rare Diseases, dr. sc. Ivica Belina, Professor of Educational Rehabilitation and President of the Coalition of Associations in Healthcare, Ana Soldo, MPharm, President of the Croatian Pharmaceutical Chamber, Jadranka Brozd, a patient representative and founder of the Croatian Association for Scleroderma Patients, as well as Vice President of the Croatian Alliance for Rare Diseases, Đana Atanasovska, President and Founder of the Nora Šitum Foundation, and LabSense, our main laboratory partner in clinical research. 

The aim of the panel discussion was to illuminate the importance and decentralization of clinical trials in pharmacy, which have the potential to deliver therapies for rare and incurable diseases.

Croatia, along with all of us, can reap significant benefits, both financially and in various other aspects, including industries such as IT, science, and healthcare. Most importantly, our patients would benefit the most.
