First event - The beginning of a new tradition
On September 7, 2024, the first Many for the Rare event was held, bringing the community together to raise awareness about rare diseases, the challenges faced by those affected, and the importance of clinical trials in developing new therapies.
It was organized following three panel discussions, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life for patients and their families.
The Many for the Rare event rounded off and crowned the first year of the Kindness is medicine initiative, expanding engagement from exclusively professional audiences to the general public, who participated with great interest and complemented the previous activities in the best possible way.
Raising awareness about rare, incurable, and malignant diseases.
Emphasizing the importance of access to the latest therapies.
Providing support to patients and their families facing difficult diagnoses
The Jak kao Jakov Association was founded on February 6, 2011, in Karlovac to help children suffering from malignant diseases and their families.
The inspiration for founding the association came from Jakov Rubido, a thirteen-year-old who fought against leukemia and epilepsy with exceptional strength of spirit.
The funds from the registration fees will contribute to further supporting those in need through the activities of the association.
